Me
Things change. My life has changed. I've changed.
One day, when I'm not feeling lazy, I will update this page so it reads easier. For now, here's a lengthy list:
- I'm "from" Seattle. As in, I was born and raised thirty minutes from Seattle and have lived in the City of Seattle for five years.
- I've lived in Rome and want to live there again. I also want to live in Japan for at least a year.
- I have a boyfriend. We met in the dorms at the UW and have lived together since the day we moved out of the dorms. If this state recognized common-law marriage, we would be eligible (eep!).
- My boyfriend's family is crazy (in a good way). Each time I visit them, I come back with many good stories to tell while durnk or at a party.
- The family dog died two days before my 10th birthday. My parents bought a new dog for my birthday, who is now 14 (though I'm not yet 24). I named her Mary, after the Queen of Scots.
- My mother died of ovarian cancer when I was 18. Her death and numerous incidents revolving around it were extremely traumatic for me.
- Since the second grade, I've had aspirations of being a writer. Since sixth grade, I've written stories. Currently, I don't write as much as I feel I should.
- I started this website to entice me to write more regularly, whether it was interesting or utter shite. It's usually utter shite, but that's okay because I do write more regularly.
- Despite not writing as often as I would like, I have been published and paid for writing though only through the university student newspaper.
- If I can't make a full-time living writing (which requires writing more often than I currently do), I would like to be an editor. I am currently taking an editorial certificate program through the UW.
- The majority of editorial positions in Seattle are technical editorial positions that require knowing C++ and other complicated coding languages.
- I like dashes more than semicolons.
- My current job is that of a "Web Manager" for a financial system help website at the UW. My job is fun, despite working at a cubicle, being completely isolated from any human contact, and being surrounded by accountants.
- My cubicle is a shrine dedicated to my boyfriend and dog. This has helped keep away the scary accountant who always stares at my breasts.
- I drink a lot of water while working. This is a habit I picked up from my last job, which was so boring and horrible that constantly going to the bathroom was the only thing to keep me sane.
- I have no siblings. This might be the reason behind all my various hobbies (knitting, gardening, beading, sewing, reading, painting/drawing, music). Or it might not be the reason. Whatever the case, I make so much stuff that I've started selling it to clear the clutter from my tiny apartment.
