Who am I?

Well, I'm a college student finishing up her last few required courses for an English major and about mid-way through the required courses for a Comparative Literature major.  Yeah, it's a lot of reading.  But no, double majoring in English and Comp Lit at the UW isn't really that impressive.  With little good planning, I would have been able to graduate in four years with a couple electives to boot.  Due to some misguided notions about wishing to become an Art Historian, I won't graduate "on time".  But, really, that's okay since I'm not too eager to leave my cozy hidden world of textbooks and learning for the real world of making money and not having three and a half months vacation during summer.

When not taking classes, reading, or cranking out last-minute papers, I work for a bunch of Jews as a resident office wench.  I love my job and my co-workers (who aren't all Jewish) so much that I've stuck around for three years.  Some people with sick humor think it's especially funny that I work for a Jewish non-profit because I'm a minute part German, am very pale and have very blonde hair.  I don't think it's very funny.  Even more so after taking a course where I read a lot of literature about the Holocaust and continued to have nightmares through the following term.

In my free time, or during the times that I refuse to do homework, I enjoy many hobbies.  I suppose it depends on what mood I'm in, since I'll pull out everything from knitting needles to a pad of paper and a pencil.  The things I seem to consistently enjoy are plants, cooking, writing and reading.  By the way, I can't stress how neurotic and obssesed about plants I am.  Ask my boyfriend, he'll tell you all of the awful things he's had to endure because of my plants.
